Wall shelf designed by Alvar Aalto. Produced by Svenska Artek in Hedemora, Sweden. Made between 1946-1956. Mad from solid and laminated birch throughout. Beautiful honey toned color from age and patina. The shelf comes with original wall mount but the shelves can be installed separately without it as well. Very good vintage condition with light age related patina from age and wear.
To meet the demand for Aaltos products, post WWII, Artek established a factory in Hedemora in Sweden. The main goal was producing Aaltos furniture mostly for exporting to the US. The factory remained producing Aaltos pieces between 1946 and 1956.
